Burger Review: Swiss Chalet

Chicken Parmesan Kaiser
$12.49

The Expectation:

The Reality:

"Our new hand breaded chicken topped with tomato sauce and melted cheese. Served on a toasted Kaiser with basil pesto mayo and your choice of side."

Presentation:
Taste:

Comments: If you've ever had Chicken Parmesan as a meal then you know its amazing-ness. Put it into a burger and you've won Anthony's heart. I tried a bite or two of this sandwich and loved it. I do enjoy a hot sandwich. The warm sauce and melted cheese were the perfect touch to make this sandwich NOT dry which is a hard thing when making a chicken sandwich. I loved it and so did Anthony.

Burger Review: Crazy Horse Restaurant

Signature 12OZ Fire Cracker Burger
$18.15

The Expectation:

The Reality:

"12 oz homemade burger stuffed with jalapenos, bacon, topped with crispy fire onions, Havarti cheese, served on a rosemary & cheddar bun"

Presentation:
Taste:

Comments: We don't have an expectation photo for this burger because its a local privately owned restaurant but when the plate was placed in front of Anthony I could tell he was excited! This is like the ultimate man burger... Beef, cheese, fried onions, bacon and deep fried jalapenos! He had no complaints for this dish other than the price, but it was expected because we were on a resort.

Burger Review: Turtle Jacks

Apple & Brie Muskoka Grillhouse Burger
$14.99

The Expectation:

The Reality:

"Brushed with apple butter and topped with brie cheese and julienned apples. Finished with Dijon mustard, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and red onion."

Presentation
Taste

Comments: The image on the menu made us want to try this burger so bad, and once receiving it I still felt the same.  Apples & brie cheese on a burger sounded so gourmet. Anthony had a hard time with the taste of this burger. It almost tasted like bug spray. I say it was the Dijon mustard (because I don't like that stuff) but he is convinced it's just the combination of flavours that comes out wrong. What a bummer because it's such a pretty burger!

Burger Review: Kelsey's

The 'somewhat' BIG WHAT Stuffed Burger
$14.99

The Expectation:

The Reality:

"We realized somewhat was an understatement. The BIG WHAT includes double stacked 4 oz. sirloin patties, double-smoked bacon, goat cheese, caramelized onions, apple butter barbecue sauce, crispy onion strings and chipotle mayo on a toasted pretzel bun."

Presentation:
Taste:

Comments: Really big & filling burger. The apple butter barbecue sauce really complimented both the caramelized & crispy onions. On a second bite you can really taste the goat cheese in the middle and it was amazing. Really good combination of flavours here. Our picture isn't the best but the presentation was pretty close except the lettuce on ours is out of control! Downside: The pretzel bun was kind of tough to bite through.

Why do 'somewhat' when you can do big what!

Burger Review: Kelsey's

Messy Fish Sandwich
$13.99
The Expectation:

The Reality:

"Wild North Pacific cod fillet brew-battered in house and fried to perfection. Topped with creamy coleslaw, fresh tomato slices, shredded lettuce and zesty tartar sauce on a rustic bun. "

Presentation
Taste
comments: plain tasting, but not over powered with flavours or spices. Exactly what I expected from a fish sandwich which is why I gave it 4 stars. I had extra tartar sauce on mine because I love it. Very filling, definitely not stingy with the fish portions.

The codfather of sandwiches!

Wimpys Diner

Last week we tried out a new restaurant! Its called Wimpy's Diner, and we always see it but never went. Its set up like an old school 50's? diner. It was so cute. The prices were all really cheap too so that was a great bonus.

I ordered the Ultimate BLT Club sandwich, it was a huge sandwich. I don't think I need to tell you what Anthony got. Take a look at the burger though. They call it the Double Burger. Their patties are oval shaped and hang over the edge of the bun. Anthony said it was great but very filling. He did finish it though. We got a poutine on the side because we always need to try the poutine. There fries were awesome! Crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside.  I love trying new places.
