Happy Victoria Day AKA May Long !!

I hope everyone is out there enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend. It would have been the perfect weekend for camping, I wish I didn't have to work so we could have planned something. This is it folks, summer is here (for us in the southern part of the province anyways, we tend to skip Spring)

Right now I am totally digging bright neons with complimentary neutral colours. I bought these strappy neon wedges from Gojane nearly 3 or so years ago and I am so happy that I kept them because they are soooo on trend for this season! Isn't it great how fashion is constantly recycling old styles?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright everyone, today I have done something a little different. I am featuring my mom in this post because she has recreated my neon pop of colour look in her own way! I thought this was so fun to see how someone else interprets a look with their own style. Check it out!

"Hobo" Chic

Dress: Forever21
Chambray Button Up: Bluenotes {similar}
Shoes: Converse
Watch: Michael Kors

This outfit is super comfortable and easy. It was perfect for a day spent working a secret project that involved a lot of moving around lifting and running out for errands.  P.S. I will share this secret project with you all when it's finally complete. I like to add dressier pieces like my Michael Kors watch to spice up the outfit and make it look more put together. Anthony told me I looked like hobo but what does he know about fashion?

Happy Long Weekend!

P.S.S the weeds in my backyard are out of control! Who has any tips to get rid of them? Needs to be pet friendly because this is also Coco's stomping ground...

Can I just start by saying "how freakin' awesome are these booties?" I am literally in love with these and for the first time ever, I want them in every colour. Super stylish and versatile, not to mention very easy to walk around in. They are selling out fast so get yourself a pair soon! I apologize the photos aren't the best for showing off the booties so check out the link to see them in all their glory. These will be a repeat offender on my blog for sure.

Black & Purple

Dress: Charlotte Russe s/o {similar}
Necklace: Forever21
Sandals: Volcom

I love that this dress has tie string straps that you can self tie to any fit. The dangling bows makes for a cute detail to a maxi dress.  You can't tell so much in the pictures but my nails, necklace and ear studs are all shades of purple. A nice pop of colour to break up all the black! Today we had a family BBQ to celebrate some birthdays, it was perfect weather.

Bejewelled Pink

Top: Forever21
Skirt:  Gojane
Wedges: Gojane -old-
Wallet: Michael Kors

On Friday we went to Niagara Falls for lunch. It is such a beautiful place. There is always so much going on and things to see/do. They have a lot of amazing back drop opportunities too! If I lived here my photos would be much more interesting. I am embracing this warm weather with open arms, I can't get enough.

Burger Review: Crazy Horse Restaurant

Signature 12OZ Fire Cracker Burger
$18.15

The Expectation:

The Reality:

"12 oz homemade burger stuffed with jalapenos, bacon, topped with crispy fire onions, Havarti cheese, served on a rosemary & cheddar bun"

Presentation:
Taste:

Comments: We don't have an expectation photo for this burger because its a local privately owned restaurant but when the plate was placed in front of Anthony I could tell he was excited! This is like the ultimate man burger... Beef, cheese, fried onions, bacon and deep fried jalapenos! He had no complaints for this dish other than the price, but it was expected because we were on a resort.

Burger Review: Arby's

Arbys Classic Fish
$2.99

The Expectation:

The Reality:

" Put away your fishing boat and rubber fishing pants. Arbys wild-caught Alaskan Pollock is crispy-fried to golden-brown perfection. We top it with tartar sauce and green-leaf lettuce."

Presentation:
Taste:

Comments: This sandwich definitely looks more appealing in the advertisement, the fish patty isn't even the same shape and we didn't get a layer of sauce on the top either. But what can we expect from fast food? The sandwich wasn't terrible but it was pretty plain, nothing to brag about. Then again, if you want an extravagant fish sandwich don't go fast food. However, the curly fries were excellent as always. And we can't forget the price. For $3.00 this was pretty satisfying.

#sweetshopswap

A month or so ago I signed up for an international candy swap and I was super excited today when my package from my partner finally arrived. I knew that my partner was from the UK - England specifically so I was hoping for some candies and treats that I've never tried or even heard of before. She did not disappoint...

Check out this super glam bubble wrap packaging - I love it!

1. Dip Dab (kinda like Fun Dip)
2. Lindt Bunny Paw
3. Wham Cosmic Chews
4. Milkyway Original
5.Milkyway Crispy Roll
6. Blackjack Aniseed Chew
7. Cadbury Fudge
8. Haribo Gummy Bears
9. Fizzy Rip Roll
10. Rowntrees Jelly Tots
11. More Haribo Gummy Bears
12. Vimto Mini Bonbons
13. Maoam Cola & Lemon Flavoured Sour Stripes
14. Diary Milk Freddo Sprinkles
15. Haribo Rhubarb & Custard Splats
16. Sour Skittles

So far I have tried a Milkyway Original, a Maoam sour stripe and the Dairy Milk Freddo Sprinkles. Surprisingly I have never had a Milkyway and I'm thinking they sell them here. It was good, and since it was just sitting in my mail box absorbing heat the chocolate was soft and gooey. The Maoam Sour Stripes were great , I am all about sour! And I love the interesting flavor. Me & Anthony both tried a Dairy Milk and it was okay. Nothing too crazy..milk chocolate with sprinkles inside, but definitely something I've never seen around before. I can't wait to try the rest of the candy!

If I Went to Prom...

Because my days of "proming" are far over and I still want to dress up in gorgeous gowns with extravagant hairstyles, this is what I would wear if I were going to prom this year!

Everything shown is from Windsor.They have an awesome selection of dresses, shoes and accessories - especially for prom season.

Oversized

Leather Jacket: Urban Behaviour
Maxi Dress: Target
Bralette: Forever21 s/o {similar}
Boyfriend Watch: Gojane s/o {similar}
Sandals: Volcom

I will apologize right now, these photos are terrible quality. I was hoping with a flash it would be better but it made them quite blurry.  Next time I will take night time photos inside.

Tonight was the night of oversized items. I've got on my oversized boyfriend watch and boy is it oversized. It would fall off my wrist if I put my arm straight, but I still love it. The dress I am wearing is too big, I don't know what I was thinking buying a large. It was on super clearance at Target and I didn't bother trying it on.  To make it a bit more fitted on the top I clasped the back straps together with a bow clip. I paired this outfit with a pair of strappy flip flop sandals that I've literally owned for nearly 5 years. Still in perfect condition and they still sell them!

Sew Hungry 2015 & OOTD

Top: Target
Beach Pants: Billabong {similar}
 Platform Sandals: Tobi
 Turtle Gemstone Necklace-gift-

Today we went to the Sew Hungry 2015 Food Truck Festival. It was a beautiful day for walking up & down the streets looking at food truck menus trying to decide what to eat. We decided to only get dessert because we were low on cash an its about $10 for any single item.  We went to a truck called Festival Fun Food and got a deep fried cheesecake to share. Eat your hearts out...

An honorable mention for me was the Frankie Fettuccine Food Truck. They had a Gnocchi Poutine that was made with "Braised Veal, Fried Gnocchi, Smoked Quebec Curds, and Natural Jus" . I love Italian food and I thought it was such a different concept!
